Family,Friends,and Gifts!

Christmas was good this year. I got lots of great gifts and there were no family arguments, which is a first for my family. Usually my brother and I get into it, but not this year; I am so proud of us. lol

I had to work Christmas Eve day but only a 6 hour shift so it wasn't too bad. That night my cousins Nate and Brian spent the night at my Mom's. I figured Nate would want to go to the bar cuz he is usually down, but instead he just wanted to stay home and watch TV. It was weird, Nate just isn't the same since we went into the military, but people change. That's what happens I guess. So Mike and I went to 51 and met up with Bobbi,Roland, and Bobbi's cousin Jason, I think that was his name. He was cute, too bad I don't have any single friends who would like him. I am not sure if he was tall or not, I really don't remember. Bobbi got me the cutest thing! It was three boxes stacked up and painted and decorated to look like Santa and then she filled the boxes with banana nut muffins, pumpkin bread and cookies. Joy and I exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve as well. I got her two DVD's and she got me Trivial Pursuit DVD Pop Culture edition.

We opened presents at my Mom's Christmas morning around 10. We went through our stockings first. I got some knee high stockings, a bracelet that has a charm that says imagine, a gift card to Wal-Mart, a pedometor or something like that (It counts calories and steps taken), some lip gloss, and some other stuff that I can't remember. Then we opened gifts, and I liked all of mine. I got some pj's, a pair of jeans, a ceramic Hawaiian shirt that you hang on the wall, a clock that will go with my tropical themed house, coat, and gloves. And then Michael got me a new ring but it needs to be sized because I went down another ring size and he also got me the postsecret book and a circle of life necklace.

Then we went to Michael's Mom's house and opened gifts. There we got hand held poker and black jack games, three quilts for our bed,a food gift basket, and perfume. Mike's brother got us a gift card to blockbuster and some kettle corn.

That evening we had dinner at my Mom's with my cousin Brian and Aunt Linda. We had pork chops, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, nappa cabbage salad, rolls and a ton of desserts. It was yummy. My cousin and Aunt didn't stay too long but it was nice to see them.

The only bad thing about Christmas this year was that it didn't snow. It was a beautiful day but no snow. It was like 60 degrees or something. It was a really nice day. I even took Rayus to the park, he loved it!

Also for Christmas Michael got me a puppy. She is half black lab and half Australian shepherd and she turned 6 weeks old on Christmas Eve. I named her Bella Noel. She looks like a chunky bear cub. She is so cute.

Winter Wonderland

It finally Christmas Eve. I am working a 6 hour shift at the hospital tonight. But it's not too bad, I would much rather work today than tomorrow. I was hoping for snow but it's just not in the forecast. We are getting rain but it's in the 40's so we will not be getting snow. I love a white Christmas, but we rarely get one here.

I got a puppy last night. She is half black lab and half Australian shepherd. She is too cute and I named her Bella. But she is pretty chunky so I call her chunk-a-licous, Bella-Noel. She looks like a little bear cub. She is so fat she just waddles. I love her. She was pretty whinny last night but I expected that. She turned 6 weeks old today. Rayus just loves her and I think Mike likes her as well. I dread the potty training stage but I have to do it.

My cousins came into town last night, so tonight it's party time. I can't wait! I always have so much fun with them. I am hoping we get to go to the bar tonight but we shall see.

I Love My Patients

Yesterday we had a woman come in for pre-op for her upcoming surgery. While she was in pre-op she fell and shattered her elbow so she had to be taken to our ER. It's a beautiful thing. I am not quite sure how she fell though, since there were no wet floors or carpet or anything, but hey shit happens.

Another great patient from yesterday was this guy who was bragging about his wife not having to work because he made plenty of cash. I said it must be nice and that both my husband and I have to work to pay our bills and live like we want to. He then said " Well my wife doesn't work and neither would my girlfriend." Then he winked at me. For a moment I was thinking to myself well I guess my husband wouldn't mind if this man paid all of our bills, then I was totally grossed out. First of all...why would he think I would be interested in him? Secondly, who hits on the girl who registers your account? Thirdly, HE IS MARRIED. But I realize a lot of people do not care if they are married or not, but I do.
